Clean-Up Kits For Public Transport

Image
New clean-up kits are now available for taxis and other point to point transport service providers to help keep drivers and passengers safe during COVID-19.   Minister for Regional Transport and Roads, Paul Toole, said the new kits would be available for collection from all of the eight vehicle sanitisation stations.   While public transport drivers around Dubbo can collect their kits from their provided vehicle sanitisation stations, in other areas such as Mudgee, drivers can order them online.       A spokesperson from the Minister’s office, confirms that “service providers will be able to order from the Point to Point Transport Commissioner Industry Portal.”   The new kits contain gloves, saline eye wash, antiseptic swabs, soap, and first-aid hand towels stored in a resealable plastic bag to make it easy for drivers to use.   For more information about COVID clean-up kits, visit pointtopoint.nsw.gov.au/sanitisation-stations

Old Rail Carriage Gets A Second Life

It will soon be “all board” at Kandos Public School, after Member for Bathurst Paul Toole announced funding for the fit-out of a derelict rail carriage. Mr Toole had been lobbying for funding of $25,000 to rejuvenate the carriage which has been sitting unused in the school grounds for years. The carriage won’t be hitting the rails, but rather will be used a dedicated space f or various visitors providing services to the school community.   S chool principal T od Morley welcomed the news, saying they could now set about organising the refurbishm ent of the carriage as an addit ional space for use as teacher and learning facilities, by occupational therapy professionals and visiting counselors. Mr Toole said the fit out of the 50-year-old carriage was recognition from the NSW Government of the need for a such special space for those visitors to the school.   The train carriage needs major upgrades including refurbishment of its interior as it has no heating or cooling.
