TOUCH FOOTBALL

Perfect playing and weather conditions combined to ensure the Mudgee Touch grand final season finished on a high note at Glen Willow on Saturday.

The Ori staved off a late surge by Col Matthews Motors to take the Men’s D1 title 6-5, Jeremy Doherty the POM.

Stride Health came from behind in a drop off to win Women’s D1 5-4 over Cudgegong Plumbing, Grace Quinn the POM.

MD2 winners were Woolpack Hotel defeating One Mob 3-1, Simon Flynn the POM.

Dynos won MD3 downing Tradies 7-3, Freddy May the POM;

Jade Env 7-1 over Kiddie Academy in WD2, Sarah Marshall the POM;

The MXD1 match was taken out by The Property Shop over Ramp Financial Solutions 6-5, players of the match, Sally Harris & Justin Gossage;

Complete Steel & Rural won MXD2 defeating Tyrepower 4-3. Zachary Halliday & Jessica Cubis;

In MXD3 Loose Nutz overpowered Stait Up Cranes 6-2, Molly Hensley & Cooper Furney the players of the match;

And Misfits were the winners of MXD4 with an 8-4 victory over Hallidays Plumbing, Lachlan Mastrone & Alexis Douglas the players of the match.

CRICKET

Goolma were easy winners over Coolah in the Gulgong cricket grand final played at Goolma on Saturday.

Coolah won the toss and sent Goolma in to bat & at the end of the 40th over were 9 wickets down for 138.

Top scorers were Brian O’Reilly with 43 runs & Mark Doherty 30.

The Coolah bowlers worked hard and restricted Goolma to a target that could be chased down, Sam Wesley taking 3 wickets for 24 runs, Dwayne Clarke 2 for 9.

The Coolah batsmen however failed to offer any long term resistance in the run chase, losing wicket at regular intervals to be 9 for 46 off 15.4 overs when stumps was called.

Only Sam Wesley 15 runs & Shaun Burgess 12 making double figures.

BOWLING

Bowling for Goolma, Brian O’Reilly capped a fine game taking 3 wickets for 14 runs, peter Doherty 3 for 3 & Ashley Honeysett 2 for 16.
