Mudgee Show Society 'Jumping' With Pride
The Mudgee Show, while had to be customised to feature agriculture-only judging events due to the rolling 12-month pandemic, was well-received.
The weekend-running events featured record numbers in show jumping and horse-ring events.
Figures so far have been counted at approximately 700 competitors and spectators attending in support of the local show.

Secretary of the Mudgee Show Society, Allison Beer, says “competitors travelled from as far as Port Macquarie for the poultry section”; whilst the “cattle section had stock arrive from as far as Quirindi, and the Merino judging was well supported by locals.”
Allison also says that feedback from those who attended and competed were grateful to even have a qualifying event held for their section.
The Mudgee Show Society as a union, look “forward to planning next years show in a more traditional manner, with the secretary also stating that “the atmosphere just wasn’t the same.”
Planning is currently in the works for a Rodeo to be held later in the year, with fellow horse competitors keen for an upcoming Show Jumping Festival in August.
