Weekend Sport - March 5

 


Six swimmers from the Mudgee Indoor swimming club will compete at the Speedo Series meet at Homebush this weekend. 


The Lawn Bowls District Pennants season is past the half way point and this Sunday, Mudgee’s grade 7 take on Gulgong at Mudgee, grades 3 & 5 with the bye. 

Meanwhile in the final of the Major Singles, Steve Caldwell & Garvis Dennis making their first appearance in a singles final, put on a classic display of draw bowls, before Steve Caldwell prevailed in a tight match 31-29. 

It’s grand final day for Mudgee Touch tomorrow, games starting at 3.30 with Mens Division 2 & 3, Womens Division 2, followed by Mixed Division 2, 3 & 4 at 4.30, Mixed Division 1 between Property Shop & Ramp Financial Solutions at 5pm, Womens Division 1 at 6pm, Stride Health against Cudgegong Plumbing, with the Mens Division 1 match at 6.40 The Ori taking on Col Matthews Motors. 

The final of the Gulgong cricket competition will be played tomorrow at the Goolma Sports ground between minor premiers Goolma & 2nd placed Coolah. 

At Mudgee, Federal Frogs V Federal Hotel at Walkers, Kelly’s Irish Pub against Paragon on the GW synthetic. 

Junior cricket continues tomorrow morning for the 11s at CP, 13s at Walkers, 15s GW. 

Junior & Master Blasters at VP. 

Little A’s is on this afternoon at Walkers from 5pm, Softball tomorrow at West End starting at 9am. 

Racing tomorrow is at Dubbo, local trainers Brett Thompson with runners in Races 2, 3, 5 & 7, Mark Milton races 3, 6 & 7. 

The Dubbo greyhounds are on tonight, owner/trainers Len Harring starters in races 1, 4, 5, 9 & 10, Daniel Hoskins races 3, 6 & 7.
